Thank You
I would like to say thank you to everyone that has taken the time out of their day to read my blog posts. It was very much appreciated that you read the blog from week to week and shared your thoughts with me about WY Records. As we both know, Wisin and Yandel are two very talented artists that have literally built their image up from nothing. They used their strength and determination to then motivate other artists and sing them on their record label to help them begin their careers. Blogging about the duo has been a great time, and I loved sharing my thoughts, feelings, and the most recent information about Wisin and Yandel with you. It is great to find other people that have the same interest as you, and through my blog and website, I was able to meet so many cool people that wanted to talk about Wisin and Yandel and WY Records. Over the last four months, the duo and other artists under their record label have accomplished many amazing things, and they have made it very easy to blog about. So thank you again for blogging with me and sharing your experiences and knowledge about Wisin and Yandel with me. I will continue to blog, even after my class ends, so please stay posted and keep sharing your thoughts with me!

El Momento Released
The wait is over!! El Momento has finally been released and it is taking over the charts. After a long wait for the album to be released, Jowell and Randy finally made the announcement that the album is officially released and ready for sale. The WY Records family is very proud of the duo and excited to see where the release of this album will take Jowell y Randy. Gadiel mentioned to Wisin and Yandel's official blog that this is the biggest moment for WY Records this year. Jowell and Randy are very excited to see how well the album has done thus far, and eager to see what the next week will bring. Sales have skyrocketed over the last few hours, already making El Momento on of the top selling albums of the month. Having only been on sale for the last twelve hours and seeing the turnout from the fans, the WY Records family is very excited to see what the 2010 tour will bring for the duo. Jowell and Randy are scheduled to tour during the summer of this year on the El Momento tour, but they are only scheduled to thirty shows total. The schedule may have to change if demands continue to stay this high. Tickets have yet to go on sale, but there are posts all over the internet demanding tickets to the scheduled show. Without a doubt, Jowell and Randy should thank Wisin and Yandel for taking them under thier wings and making them one of the hottest duos on the reggaeton scene.

Wisin y Yandel Join Forces
Wisin and Yandel join forces with De La Ghetto,Cosculluela, Franco el Gorila, and Tego Caldron to bring the fans an music video that will introduce their soon to be released album "Los Vaqueros 2." Wisin and Yandel originally came out with "Los Vaqueros" back in the day, and the album has been one of there most successful yet. This was the album that really put Wisin and Yandel ahead of other artists on the reggaeton scene. Because this album did so well, there is a lot of pressure on the duo to make the second album as good as the first. All doubts aside, the duo will bring the heat, once again, especially because they have now created a "family" that is unstoppable. The WY Records family is a huge part of the making of this album, and are very excited to be in the video that will introduce the new album. The video was directed by Jesse Terrero and will be released on April 30. Terrero seems to be the only man that directs music videos for the duo, making him to best man to put on the job. The artists mentioned above are the only ones included in the video, but the others will be featured on the album. We are hoping to see some new remixes of the duo's most popular songs, and new songs that features the other members of the WY Records family. The entire video will be released some time in May, followed by the highly anticipated new album.

Mision 4123
Wisin and Yandel have now released a video to one of their newest singles, entitled Mision 4123. The duo is doing the video a little different this time. It will not be like their typical music video where you find beautiful women dancing around the men or feel nothing but sex appeal. This video has a completely differnt feel and goes with a more mysterious setting, than enjoyable. In the beginning of the video, the duo is in a room, moving in very fast motion, as if they were on a very important mission to get somewhere. The duo looks very different in the video considering they are not in their typical flashy clothes and are not directly singing to the camera. The video is seen through the lens of a video camera, which gives it this different look than the rest of the videos. The video also includes other members of the WY Records family, such as Gadiel, Jayko, Franco el Gorila, and Jowell y Randy. About one minute into the video, Wisin explains what the mission is that him and Yandel will be embarking on. I won't spoil it for you, but if you can not speak Spanish then there are a few versions of the video that are translated into English. Check out the duo's homepage on their website if you are interested in seeing the video. Lately, Wisin and Yandel have been doing a lot of different things that amaze us, but I would definitely say that this mission takes the cake!

Los Del Mometo
Well we knew that Jowell and Randy were taking over the reggaeton scene as the hottest new duo to join WY Records, but I don't think we were prepared to see how much success the duo actually was going to have. Now being called "Los Del Momento," Jowell and Randy are receiving much honor from other artists as the people to compete with. With the release of their newest single "Loco," Jowell and Randy have skyrocketed to the number one spot and have refused to let other artists, such as Daddy Yankee or Don Omar, take that from them. The duo recently received an award for hottest new duo on Los Premios Juventudes, and they were very ecstatic. Jowell mentioned to the fans that this is the time to show the world that they are different, and that they are unstoppable when it comes to working with Wisin and Yandel and the other artists under WY Records. The duo gave thanks to each member of the WY Records family, but gave special gratitude towards Wisin and Yandel. Randy mentioned that they are fully aware that they would not be where they are right now without Wisin and Yandel, and they are very thankful for that. The release of the album "El Momento" is on its way, and we can only expect that the fame will grow much larger for the duo. Expected to be released on April 23, "El Momento" already has fans calling Jowell and Randy the reggaetoneros to beat!

Arrival in Panama
Wisin and Yandel faced a huge surprise when they landed in Panama, where they offered a concert this weekend. The duo, known as "Los Extraterrestres" arrived in a private plan in the international airport of Tocumen. The duo thought this was going to be a quick trip, but they were in for a shock. The duo was approached with many questions regarding the current lawsuit that they are handling and were even confronted by Ramiro Esquivel, the man with the rights to the words. After a few moments of confusion, the duo was notified that the press had heard recent news that they duo would be arriving here and many were interested to see the reactions on Wisin and Yandel's faces when approached with these questions. Apart from the piece of the song that was used in the chorus of the song by Wisin and Yandel, there were other allegations being made. Don Omar is also facing the same exact lawsuit for taking part in this song and not having the rights to do so. Don Omar feels that everyone is acting slightly out of line, and hopes that all of the artists can move along and continue their careers. Wisin and Yandel confirmed the notification that they would complete the concert in Panama, despite all of the confusion and press, but the duo was not happy about what had occurred below their noses. The duo did complete the concert, and despite a few issues, the hottest duo of reggaeton had a great time in Panama.

Billboards List
Even though Wisin and Yandel may be experiencing a little bit of a rough patch with everything that is going on with the lawsuit, the duo has never been so happy. The chart topping list for the Billboards came out for this week, and Wisin and Yandel are placed on the list three times before we even hit spot number twenty. The duo has had one of their most successful years yet, and they do not expect anything less out of themselves for next year. Wisin and Yandel were ranked number sixteen on the list for their hit single, "Te Siento," which has been making the list for the last six weeks. This song was huge for the duo, considering it was the first single off of their new album, La Evolucion, and it is was kept Wisin and Yandel's name on the map after the release of the record breaking album, La Revolucion. The duo is also ranked number thirteen on the Billboard list for this album and has been on this list for over forty five weeks. This is an incredible achievement, and the duo is very proud to have even made the list. The album has not dropped below the number thirteen spot within the forty five weeks, and they hope they can stay above the thirteen spot for the equivilance of a year. As if that is not enough, Wisin and Yandel are also ranked in the number thirteen spot for the single "Lo Mejor" that was recently released by WY Records. The song came out about two weeks ago and has been on the Billboard Top One Hundred ever since.

Lawsuit
Wisin y Yandel are experiencing a little bump in the road as they continue on their tour through South America. The duo is facing a law suit, along side of many other reggaeton artists, as well. Nando Boom, who is owner of a reggaeton record, filed the lawsuit against the duo in April of 2008. The records label owner claimed that Wisin, Yandel, and Don Omar, used part of his song, "Enfermo de Amor" in their track "MySpace" with out authorization. Don Omar is part of the lawsuit because he is featured in this track and also did not get authorization to take part in the song. Court recently began in session, and the situation is trying to be handled in a very mature manner. Since everyone on the case are very busy people, the case has been moving slowly but will eventually be resolved. Wisin y Yandel claim that they did not use part of the singer's with out authorization, but Nando Boom feels a little bit different. The case argues that the melody is the same and the words are the exact of what is now in Wisin and Yandel's hit, "MySpace." Nando Boom recently has a lawsuit filed against another reggaeton artist, Daddy Yankee, but he decided to drop he case when the two artists came to an agreement. Daddy Yankee and Nando Boom are still friends, but the same can not be said for him and Wisin y Yandel. Stay posted for updates.

Mi Tierra Se Movio
Its been a while since we have heard something new from Jayko, one of the aspiring artists under WY Records, but he is back, and his music is better than ever. Jayko has recently release his new single entitled "Mi Tierra Se Movio," and the fans are loving what they hear. In the song, Jayko uses his unique style and distinct voice to create an upbeat tempo that can keep fans dancing through the entire song. Jayko admitted to being a little nervous about the release of this song because it was very different from any other song he has recorded before. Through the song, Jayko sings about how one women "makes his world move" and sings a love song without the sappy music behind it. If there was a fan that did not understand Spanish, they would never know that this song was about love and heartbreak. I think that is what makes this song so unique. The fact that fans can dance to this song and enjoy themselves, while getting a message that portrays the exact opposite feeling of happiness is something that can be hard for an artist to portray. Wisin and Yandel did help Jayko on the recording of this track, and the duo is very satisfied with the end result. Jayko will preform this song while traveling with Wisin and Yandel on their tour, and only the lucky fans will be able to hear is live for one of the first times! The video for this track is being worked on, so keep your ears open!!

Tour through Argentina
As Wisin and Yandel continue their tour through Argentina, the hype is getting bigger on what is expected to come from the duo. Recent performences have made fans very excited for what they may see in the future shows of this tour. The craziness all began when Wisin and Yandel secretly brought other WY Records family members on tour with them. These artists have been making appearences at almost every show, however, not every crowd will see each artist. The members of the WY Records family are on tour with the duo, but only certain artists are featured in some of the concerts. We are not sure how to find out whether the other artists will perform at specific concerts, but what we do is that the fans that were able to see some of the other artists perform are very lucky. I myself, had the opportunity to see the duo in Chicago and without knowing, Franco el Gorila just walked on stage. Together, Yandel and Franco el Gorila performed what was then their newest single together, entitled Sexo Seguro. The fans went crazy when this happened, and I have to admit I was right there with them, cheering and screaming. The most memorable moment on the tour thus far was when Jowell y Randy appeared at the concernt in Valencia. This was the first time that the duo had performed with Wisin and Yandel on this tour and hopefully it will not be the last. The way the crowd reacted to the four men performing together was incredible. I would definitely like to see that for myself one day.

Official Release of Loco
It's finally here. The official video for Jowell y Randy's newest hit has now been released. In the video, the duo is sailing on a yacht with many beautiful women that drive the duo "loco." The song is very passionate, and the setting sun of San Juan, Puerto Rico really sets the mood. Jowell y Randy were very excited for the release of this video, since the release of their album, "El Momento" was put on hold. This song is a single of the album and from what we have seen so far, will be one of the most popular song on the album. Jowell y Randy have risen from being underground reggaeton artists to one of the hottest duos on the scence. Of course, with the help of Wisin y Yandel, Jowell y Randy have created this bad boy image that has now taken over the reggaeton scene. This has been one of the most successful years for Jowell y Randy, and it is all thanks to the dynamic duo, Wisin y Yandel. Little do they know, Jowell y Randys careers are just really getting started. The are now famous all over Latin America and are going to soon begin a world wide tour for their new album, "El Momento." The duo is proud of the music that they have created, and they are very excited to begin the tour. With the release of this new video, Jowell y Randy will definitley become the favorties, and they will definitley feel what it is like to be one top.

Dance for a Dream
Wisin and Yandel recently participated in an event call Dance for a Dream. As the duo passed through Argentina on their tour, they made time to attend Dance for a Dream and perform for a very large audience. The duo was asked by producer Marcelo Tinelli to perform at the event and be the main act of the night. The duo has participated in this event in the past, but they were not always the honorees for the night. Yandel mentioned that it was a honor to be the lead performers at the event and that they has a great time performing with the crowd. At the event, the duo advertised there new music that will soon be released and then began to talk about all of the countries that have conquered with their music. On fan reported that the speech was very inspiring and it gave hope to people who are less fortunate than others. Lately, the duo has been focusing on helping as many groups and organizations as possible, and they are doing a great job. Just with Haiti alone, the duo donated over two hundred thousand dollars in supplies, and they have been doing many other great things for charities around the world. Wisin and Yandel think that Dance for a Dream is a great way to motivate and inspire people of all ages, and from the reactions of the crowd, the duo did just that. For the fans that were lucky enough to attend, they were able to hear and see Wisin and Yandel as caring normal people rather than just see them as flashy performers. The duo really inspired the crowd and made them feel that everyone can have a chance to live their dream.
La Revolucion goes Platinum
If we all thought that Wisin and Yandel have reached the height of the career, we are all wrong. The hottest duo of reggaeton is just getting started. The duo's album that was released in 2009, entitled La Revolucion, brought in the most sales on any album that Wisin and Yandel have ever put together. The album has been the most successful album that the duo worked on, and the hard work is definitely paying off. Wisin and Yandel were awarded a platnium record in honor of how well the album did and how many sales it produced. The duo was given the award in Colombia, after completing a series of concerts that were performed all throughout the Colombian area. They duo was goven the platinum record in honor of the tremendous job they did on the production of La Revolucion. They were very proud to have recieved this honor. Wisin admitted that La Revolucion took their music to another level. It showed the fans who the bosses of reggaeton were and who was on top. The most amazing part about this is that La Evolucion, the newest album released by Wisin and Yandel, has been doing just as well as La Revolucion and is expected to produce sales just as good or even better. Right now the album is doing great and nearly seven of the tracks off the album have been number on hits on the Billboard Hot One Hundred. The duo is doing a great job at keeping fans interested and performing at their concerts. The question here is.. What haven't Wisin and Yandel accomplished?

2010 Tour-Jowell y Randy
Word is out about the upcoming tour of the hottest new duo of reggaeton. It has been announced that Jowell y Randy will be touring this Fall season on their first official tour under WY Records. The tour will be called El Momento and the duo will perform all of their hits songs from their soon to be released album that was given the title El Momento,as well. Tour dates have not been officially released, but should hopefully they will be realeased within the next month. The album is supposed to be released sometime in April, and I assume that the tour dates will be released shortly after the album release. Everyone is getting very excited about the release of the album but does not know what to expect from the quirkiest duo in reggaeton. The tracks that have been released have been very successful, and we are all hoping that the other tracks on the album are just as great. The tour will be great and definitely worth the time. I have seen the duo perform before, and they truly know how to put on a show. The tour will be great, and we can all hope that we will get a glimpse of Wisin y Yandel and some of the other members of the WY Records family. Cross your fingers! I will be updating the blog immediately when tour dates are released. Stay posted and make sure you are checking the blog for constant updates on the 2010 tour!

Colombia is a Success
Wisin and Yandel recently toured Colombba on their most recent tour, La Evolucion. The duo made their way through South America, and then made their way over to Colombia, to once again make a mark. Fifteen thousand people had the privlege to see the duo perform, and it is safe to say that the entire crowd was satisfied with what they had seen. There were people so far in the back of the audience that the duo could not even see where the crowds stopped. For Wisin and Yandel, this is nothing new, but for outside speculators to see, it was a very rare and unique site. The lights, the music, and the dancers made the show complete, and definitely created an image that fans would remember. The concert lasted over six hours and for not one minute was the crowd in their seats. The duo rose to the occasion and created a magical environment as they allowed their fans to sing along and really be part of the concert. Featured at the concert was artist Yelsid, and WY Records family members, Franco el Gorila and Jowell y Randy. The artists sang their newest hits that also included Wisin and Yandel, and they made the crowd go wild. No one could resist dancing and singing to Wisin and Yandel and the WY Records family. The duo ended their show by singing their hit song, Abusadora, and the crowd went wild. At the finally, Wisin and Yandel and all of the featured artists at the concert came out and gave one last wave.

Los Premios Juventud
The unstoppable duo is at it again. Nominations were just released for Los Premios Juventud, and Wisin and Yandel have topped the list. The duo was nominated for nine awards this year and will most likely take home the majority of them. The year has been nothing but a sucess for the duo de la historia, and we are all excited to see which awards the duo can actually take home. Since Wisin and Yandel are popular amongst all ages, the duo seems to be ranking in awards at every Latin music awards ceremony. These awards are based on the votes of the fans, but are mainly focused on the votes of the youth. Since Wisin and Yandel captured an audience of all ages, they seem to be controlling, what seems like, categories that were once dominated by younger latin artists. The nominations that Wisin and Yandel recieved for Los Premios Juventud are as following.
Best Collaboration-‘’Wisin & Yandel Featuring Jowell & Randy - Te Siento Remix’’ o ‘’Wisin & Yandel Featuring Enrique Igleasias – Gracias A Ti Remix’’

Best Urban Artists
Best Music Video-‘’Wisin & Yandel - Te Siento’’
Favorite Ringtone-‘’Wisin & Yandel -Te Siento’’ o ''Wisin & Yandel –Abusadora'' o ‘’Wisin & Yandel – Gracias A Ti’’

You can go to Wisin and Yandel's official website to vote for the artists to help them win the awards, so if you really are a Wisin and Yandel fan, take a few minutes out of your time and visit the website to help the artists take home as many awards as possible. History of WY
I would definitely say that the top blog on my post that I want all of my readers to see and understand is the one that talks about the history of Wisin and Yandel. This post is the most important to me because it is so important to understand what Wisin and Yandel went through in order to get where they are today. The duo takes pride in the amount of success that they have created for themselves, and without knowing how the duo started out and beat all odds, it is hard to truly understand the duo. Most people think they just walked onto the reggaeton scene and began making music, but this is very untrue. The duo spent many years in the underground scene trying to build a name for themselves and trying to make it big. This blog post, which is at the very begginning of all my blog posts, also talked about how the duo, at one time, were enemies. They started out making music together, but the hype of who was a better artist lead the duo to have some problems with one another in their early careers. If you are interested in reading about the duo and how they became the successful men that they are today, then just scroll down to the very beginning of my blog and read the blog entitled "History of Wisin y Yandel." Then, if you are interested in understanding more about each artist under WY Records, read through the entire first part of my blog! Once you understand the artists and their history, it will help you understand why they are so proud to be part of the number one record label in reggaeton.

LOCO
The movement has begun for all of the artists under WY Records. The artists are coming together to make music that will not be forgotten by the fans of reggaeton, and they are ready to conquer the scene. The newest hit that was just recently released under WY Records is entitled “Loco.” The song, sung by Jowell, Randy, Wisin, and Yandel, was greatly anticipated by the fans and from the amount of hits on YouTube, it’s clear that the fans are satisfied. Jowell, Randy, Wisin, and Yandel worked very hard to perfect this song, especially since this is the song that will really put Jowell and Randy at the head of the reggaeton scene. Jowell and Randy seem to be at the height of their careers ever since they became part of the most successful record label in reggaeton. With the help of Wisin and Yandel, Jowell and Randy’s careers have taken off, and they are now the hottest new duo to hit the scene. Wisin and Yandel offered Jowell and Randy three hundred thousand dollars to make two different videos for the song “Loco." There is also be two differnt music videos for each version. One version was recorded as the original with just Jowell and Randy. This version will be part of their coming album, “El Momento.” The second version of the video is a remix with El Duo de La Historia, Wisin and Yandel. The video for “Loco” was recorded under the setting sun on a Yacht on the island of Puerto Rico. The video shows that Jowell and Randy are demanding the title of top duo en reggaeton. Although the videos have not been officially released, they are the talk of the reggaeton scene.

Los Premios Nuestros
The duo once again feels success after being nominated for fifteen awards at Los Premios Nuestros. Wisin and Yandel can not believe that they have been nominated for so many awards this year and are very excited to even be recognized on this level. Within in the last two months the duo has been nominated for twenty nine awards at only two awards ceremonies. This is a huge honor for the duo, and not really anyone can believe what a difference on year has done for the duo. With the release of La Revolucion, Wisin and Yandel expanded their audience and have created a new way to look at reggaeton. The awards for the Los Premios Nuestros did air yesterday, and if you are interested in knowing the results just go to my webpage and look under articles. The duo also performed on the awards show, and from the audiences reactions, it was easy to see that Wisin and Yandel were definietly one of the favorite performances from the night. The audience sang along to everyword of the songs that Wisin and Yandel performed. After the release of La Revolucion, Wisin and Yandel blew up on the music scence, making them very successful. From the release of La Evolucion, it is obvious that Wisin and Yandel will continue having this feeling and continue being the number one duo in reggaeton!

More Then 60,000 People
El duo de la Historia has truly made their mark now. Recently, the duo performed in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela and had one of their biggest turnout of fans yet. Sixty thousand fans waited outside in the hot weather of Venezuela just to sneak a glimpse of the hottest duo in reggaeton. There were so many people at this concert, that no one could see how far back the fans actually went. I think that the duo should feel very honored to witnessed something like this in their lifes because this is a phenomenal experience. At first when i read the story about how many people attended the event, I did not think that this was such a big deal, thinking that all concerts hold plenty of people and that all of the concerts of Wisin and Yandel are mostly sold out anyways; however, once I realized how many people that actually was, I could not even fathem the way that duo must have felt. From recent posts on puertoricounder.com, the official site of reggaeton artists, it is easy to tell that Wisin and Yandel did exactly what the crowd wanted. Most fans stated that this was the most exciting and exillerating performance that they have ever seen from the duo. One girl even said that she looked around and could not believe that so many people knew every word to all of Wisin and Yandel's songs. If that is not a night to remember, then I'm not quite sure what is!

The Meaning of Wisin and Yandel
Today's post is a little bit more sentimental for me, in explaining the reason I love the music of Wisin and Yandel. One of the main reasons that I listen to Wisin and Yandel is because I retain alot of the Spanish that is said in the songs, and I find it very useful to constantly listen to music in Spanish while learning the language. Another reason why I love Wisin and Yandel is becuase this is how I met my best friend. This girl and I were friends before, but we went through some tough times together and that only helped us grow stronger. When we felt sad or down about the things in our life, we would sit together and listen to these artists and talk about how we want to start a successful life for ourselves. Wisin and Yandel have inspired the both of us to get out in the world and explore other cultures and accept people for their differences. These two artists truly hold a sentimental value to me because they are the reason I studied abroad and the reason that I came home with so many friends from Mexico. We met our friends in Mexico when I was out at night and was singing a Wisin and Yandel song. The boys came up and started singing with me, and we have been friends ever since. Wisin and Yandel have brought a lot of great people into my life, so when you listen to the music next time, stop, really listen, and think about how these artists have changed your life.

Franco el Gorila Robbed
Franco el Gorila just experienced a horrible event this Monday in Santiago, Chile when he was exiting the hotel that he was staying at. Franco el Gorila was robbed of all of his bags and his jewelery as he was leaving the hotel. The car the was waiting to drive Franco el Gorila from the hotel to the airport in Santiago was packed with all of the artists things, and this is where the robbers took everything from. In the bags, where the artists clothes, shoes and most importantly, his very expensive jewelry. Reports stated that the artist was robbed of nearly sixty thousand dollars worth of clothing, jewelry, and other valuables. Franco el Gorila has not made a statement on his opinion of this, but rumors have said that the majority of the dollar value that was robbed consisted of the incredible jewelry that the artist owned. In his bags, Franco had an excesive amount of jewelry that consisted of diamonds and gold of differnt qualities. Everything in Franco el Gorila's bags were worth a tremendous amount of money, and the artist is probably very sickened by the fact that someone could do this to him. At this moment, we have only heard that Franco el Gorila has said that the situation is sad, but he is happy that the person who stole only wanted his things and did not want to harm him.

Wisin y Yandel/Tito el Bambino
The Latin Grammys are here and Wisin and Yandel have more competition than they expected. The duo knew that they were going to be up against last years leaders of the night, Calle 13, but I am not quite sure that they were aware of how competitive this year would be. Another reggaeton artist, Tito el Bambino, is nominated for eighteen awards and is a heavy favorite in many of the categories. With the release of his new album, El Patron, Tito el Bambino has created a serious reputation for himself. His single El Amor put him back up on the top and now he is reaping the benefits. Wisin and Yandel are in a great position for the awards, but there are other artists that are topping the list of most nominated for the night. Another group that Wisin and Yandel have to look out for is the group Aventura. Wisin and Yandel have previously collaborated with the Bachata group and still remain very close friends. For Wisin and Yandel, there is no tension between them and Aventura. They respect the group and know that the four men in Aventura are very talented. Aventura has been nominated for twelve awards and are very excited. This year has been big for leaders of Bachata, and they are bound to be very successful at the Latin Grammys. Whether or not all of the these artists take home any Grammys, they have all had one of the most successful years of their careers.

14 Nominations at Latin Grammys
The duo is back and stronger than ever. Today the nominations were released for the 2010 Latin Grammys and guess who has taken control! Wisin and Yandel. The duo have been nominated for fourteen Latin Grammys and are expected to take home the majority of them. They are leaders in all of the categories they have been nominated for, and we are all excited to see which Grammys the duo can take with them. They are very excited for the nominations and feel honored to have even been nominated for that many Grammys in one year. This year alone, they are nominated for more Grammys than they have been in the last ten years combind. This shows that the duo is doing exactly what they intended to do. They have conquered the Latino audience and have had nothing but huge success over the last year, with the release of their two highest selling albums, La Revolucion and La Evolucion. The duo is up against some very talented competition, but without a doubt they will be happy with the end result of the Latin Grammys. The awards will be on April 29 and will play on the television station Telemundo. The awards are being held in Puerto Rico, the native country of the duo. Wisin and Yandel will be up against other reggaeton artists such as Tito "el Bambino" and bachata group Aventura, but keep your eyes and ears out for the hottest duo in reggaetno. As Wisin has said, Hoy tengo el control, and that is exactly what this duo has proven this year.

Previous Blogs
If you are new to the blog, make sure that you are going back and looking at the old blogs that I have posted! These are great to read if you want to know a little more information about each individual artist under WY Records and some fun new information that has been released about them. In this blog, you will find separate blogs about the history of Wisin and Yandel, how WY Records got started, who is Tico el Inmigrante, Jakyo, Yaviah, Jowell, Randy, Franco el Gorila, and find out what each artist is up to right now. I have also featured an article on the artist Yomo, who is not part of the WY Records company, but adds his talent on both new albums of Wisin and Yandel. He is featured on La Revolucion and La Evolucion. If you have not heard of him, go check out the blog! In addition to this, I have posted the most recent information about the release of Jowell and Randy's soon to be finished album. We can expect great things in March from this duo. There is also a blog that informs you all about the release of WY Records newest album, Lo Mejor de La Compania, which takes the hottest tracks from each artist under that label and combines them all into one! Tico el Inmigrante New Single Release
Just recently, Tico el Inmigrante released his newest single "Escapate." The newest artist under WY records is excited about the release of the track and is excited to hear what his fans have to say. The track will be featured on his first album to be released by the label WY Records. The single is supposed to be a huge hit for the artist and will hopefully put Tico el Inmigrante on the same level as the duo that started the record label, Wisin and Yandel. Since Tico is a new member of the WY Records company, he has not truly been able to break out with a hot track and create a name for himself. This, however, is all expected to change with the release of this single and the release of his soon to come album under WY Records. We can only hope that the single takes off and takes over the Latin audience, so that we all can get a better glimpse of the new artist. With high hopes, Wisin and Yandel will wait to see how the artist touches the Latin audience with his new tracks, and then they will hopefully be able to explode his image all over the reggaeton scene. To hear the newest track by Tico el Inmigrante, just Google the artists name followed by the song title, or download it from this website: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlvWVt0y0YI If you love the music by the artists under WY Records, then I am positive that you will love the Caribbean sound of Tico el Inmigrante!

WY Call Collaborations Necessary
The two biggest collaborations that made Wisin and Yandel isntantley famous in the United States were the tracks "Mujeres en el Club" and "Imaginate". The duo collaborated these song with artists, 50 Cent and T-Pain. The track "Mujeres en el Club" was featured on the album released last year, "La Revolucion." 50 Cent was honored to be asked by Wisin and Yandel to make a collaboration, and he was very thrilled that the song was an instant hit with both the Latino audience and American audience. The song was nominated for a Latin Grammy, but the trio did not take the award home. Regardless, 50 Cent, Wisin, and Yandel were very happy with the nomination. Since this song was such a hit with both Audiences, Wisin and Yandel thought they would surprise their fans with another collaboration with T-Pain. They asked him to work with them on the track "Imaginate" and are very thankful that they did. The song shot to number one is being play in clubs all across the world. "Imaginate is featured on the duo's newly release album, "La Evolucion." Wisin called these collaborations necessary. It helped Wisin and Yandel explode into the American music industry, and even be nominated for an MTV music award. More is going to come from the talented duo. They are currently working on a collaboration with Akon again, and from what we all know, when Wisin and Yandel work with Akon, we all are in for a surprise. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Collaborations
Wisin and Yandel have done many collaborations with artists here in America, and the trend will continue. The duo has crossed themselves over into the American audience by collaborating with some of the hottest names in rap, R and B, and pop music. The duo created fresh singles with the American artists in hopes to receive more recognition in the American market. I would have to say that the duo’s strategy definitely worked. Wisin y Yandel have collaborated with very well known artists such as R. Kelly, Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Paris Hilton, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Lenny Kravitz, and Nelly Furtado, Eve, G-unit, T-Pain, and Enrique Iglesias. All of these artists have earned very high recognition amongst the American audience, and have definitely helped expand the careers of Wisin and Yandel. Although this has helped the duo gain recognition, I still believe that Wisin and Yandel can push the envelope a little further. With the release of “La Evolucion”, the duo has put out three new tracks with artists that have major success with the American audience. One of the most popular newly released tracks on “La Evolucion” is “Imaginate” which features T-Pain. This single has topped the charts, as well as many other collaborations that Wisin and Yandel have released in the past. The future holds great things for the duo. If one person shares the talented music of Wisin and Yandel with another, then everyone could have an opportunity to experience the music of “El Duo de la Historia.”
Official Blog-Wisin y Yandel
If you are interested in reading more about Wisin y Yandel, the duo's official blog is a great place to look. The blog is updated daily and provides the readers with all the information that is released about the biggest duo in reggaeton. The blog talks about the joining of new artists to their record label, WY Records. The top story on the blog right now is about the newest duo that joined the record label and the release of their new album, El Momento. This duo, Jowell and Randy, are receiving a lot of hype about their new album under WY Records and are expected to top the charts with the majority of the tracks on the new album. The author of the official blog mentions that Wisin stated that Jowell and Randy are the artists that will have control of the new movement in reggaeton. They are already popular in South America and the United States but Wisin believes that with the release of this album, the duo will be able to establish international recognition. Wisin, right now, claims that Jowell and Randy have the talent to take over the reggaeton scene, but need to establish and international reputation before the duo can successfully control the reggaeton scene. The blog also features Wisin y Yandel's newest apperances and features the lastest news on the duo's life. This blog is very informative, and helps the fans stay updated with the lives of Wisin y Yandel. To find this blog, google Wisin y Yandel blog or enter this link. The Grammys 2010
The Grammys were a speacial night for many, but Wisin y Yandel were not as fortunate as some. The duo was nominated for a Grammy in the category for Best Latin Rock, Alternative, or Urban Album did not take home the award this year. Wisin y Yandel competed against many other talented artists in the category, which were all deserving of the awards. The duo went up against Calle 13 for their album "Los De Atras Vienen Conmigo," Aterciopelados for their album entitled "Rio," artist Bebe for the album "Y.," the group Los Fabulosos Cadillacs for their album entitled "La Luz Del Ritmo". Wisin y Yandel were nominated in this category for their album that was released last year, 2009, "La Revolucion." Calle 13 took home the award for best latin rock, alternative, or urban album and were very excited about their win. Wisin y Yandel were happy for the group Calle 13 and were honored to have even been nominated for the album "La Revolucion. " At last years Grammys, Wisin y Yandel were nominated for best pop video, but the award was taking buy pop star Britney Spears. The duo has won three grammys before, and are just excited to recognized for their music, whether they win or not. The controversy that occured when Wisin y Yandel were nominated for a "Pop Video" shocked the duo, when the media created so much hype about reggaeton artists being nominated in the "Pop" genre, where many felt they did not belong. The duo will hopefully be more successful at the Latin Grammys that will be held in November 2010. If they have a repeat of last years Latin Grammys, then im sure the duo will go home smiling!!

Tico "El Inmigrante"
Tico "el Inmigrante" is another new member of WY Records. He recently signed with the record label and agreed to make music with WY Records for at least four years. He is the first latino to sign under Wisin y Yandel's record label that is not a native of Puerto Rico. Tico "el Inmigrante" is a native of Venezuela and is very pround of that. Through majority of his tracks, he reminds his listeners that he is Venezuelan and represents his country proudly. Although we believe that Tico "el Inmigrante" will be very happy and successful under this record label, only time will tell if the Venezuelan will find his niche with the number one record label in reggaeton. Tico "el Inmigrante" has began making music with other artists under the label and has even released his own album. The release of his first album, which is self titled "Tico el Inmigrante" was on July 22, 2009. This was a big day for Tico "el Inmigrante" because not only did he release his first album under WY Records, he performed with Wisin y Yandel in his home land of Venezuela in the "La Revolucion" Tour. The record has been a success, and from the looks of things, is seems as though Tico "el Inmigrante" is satisfied with his decision to join WY Records. He has experienced much success with the singles that he released with Franco "el Gorila" Gadiel, Jowell y Randy, and Wisin y Yandel. Tico "el Inmigrante" and Gadiel are now forming a duo together to hopefully become as successful as label owners Wisin y Yandel.

Yaviah
Yaviah, is once of the most interesting members of the WY Records family. Yaviah is featured on some of the tracks on the records of the artists from WY Records, but he mainley writes and produces the unique sounds that come are heard on the records. Yaviah, whose real name is Javier Alexis Marcano Rodriquez and was originally from Santurce, Puerto Rico began his career in 1989 when he started break dancing. During this time, Rap and Hip hop had taked over the scene, and Yaviah was very interested in breakdancing to this style of music. When Yaviah first started out, reggaeton did not exsist. Reggaeton was soon to explode, and Yaviah would instantley be twisted into the reggaeton scene. In 1994, Yaviah began a recording deal with a record label that did not understand the type of music he was looking to make, so Yaviah soon moved to BlackFather Inc, where he currently is the CEO and is happy being in control of his own career and most of all, his own music. Thanks to songs like “Se Acelera el Flow”, “Boricueo”, “La Makina”, “Latigo”, “Este Party Va”, and “Sensual Bebe” and his recent hit singles like “Mato Conmigo”and “Contacto”, Yanviah has become a very well known artists and very popular in Puerto Rico and many other countries. Yaviah’s popularity has grown in a very particular and beneficial way. Becaurs of his sucess, he was asked by record label owners, Wisin y Yandel, to join their label, WY Records, to record songs with their artists and to produce music with a twist of his unique sound. Yaviah is currently in negotiations with Wisin y Yandel in regards to him officially becoming an artist under the WY Records label. We have high hopes for the his future with WY Records, especially after the release of his single, "Descara" with Wisin y Yandel and Yomo. Keep your fingers crossed! Yaviah would be a great edition to the WY Records family.

Yomo
Yomo, whose real name is Jose Alberto Torres Abreu is another rising artist under WY Records. Yomo is most known for the being featured on the albums "La Revolucion" and "La Evolucion" which were both released by artists Wisin y Yandle. Yomo was born on June 17, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois, but was raised in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He is the youngest of three kids, and now has three children of his own, by two differnt women. Yomo released his album "My Destiny" in November 2008 and dedicated the whole album to his ex-wife who now lives in Miami, Florida. While artists such as Don Omar and Daddy Yankee were taking control of the reggaeton scene, Yomo was developing on the underground reggaeton scene. He first began working with artists in the reggaeton buisness and became a regularly featured artist on many albums. Success came to Yomo when he realease his single '"Déjale Caer To' El Peso"', which topped the music charts. However, it was not untill the release of the hit "Descara", where Yomo was featured by Wisin y Yandel, that he became a hit in the U.S and the Caribbean. At the beginning of 2010, Yomo released his song Lio, which has become very popular. He will continue being featured with other artists under WY Records until he decides to cross record labels and officially become part of the WY Record family. Although Yomo is not officially under WY Records, he is very close with the artists under WY Records and will continue to make music with them and Machete Music.

Under the label, he first showed his talent on the album Los Vaqueros Wild Wild Mixes and then proceeded to work on a record with Tony Dize, a former member of WY Records. Upon completion of La melodia de la calle, Jayko began recording with Wisin y Yandel on their albums Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres and Wisin y Yandel presentan: La Mente Maestra. Jowell y Randy
Jowell & Randy are one of the most popular reggaeton artists that have arised since the mid 2000's. Jowell Munoz Marinez, born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 3, 1982, and Randy Acevedo Ortiz, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 15, 1983, formed their dynamic duo in the early 2000's after being introduced to one another by a producer the two were working with. The two both started their solo careers years before, but soon joined when they discovered eachothers' talent. Jowells recorded his first song in 1996 entitled "Los Fugitivos" and Randy came onto the reggaeton scene in 1998 working on a record that was being produced by In House Magazine. Individually, Jowell & Randy displayed their talent, but it was not until the duo came together and recorded their first single, Todavia Recuerdo, that they were truly recognized on the reggaeton scene. This song was highly recognized by many radio stations, leading Jowell y Randy to record more music, which would later be a huge success. They recorded music on records entitled Time to Kill Vol. 2, Zona de Perreo, and Ground Zero. They gained fame in the United States with the release of their song "No Voy a Parar" and have now been featured in songs with other popular reggaeton artists such as Tito "El Bambino" and De La Ghetto. Jowell y Randy also formed the group Casa de Leones with three other artists and released the song No Te Veo, which has been their most popular song thus far. Jowell y Randy decided to change labels, officially joining the artists under WY Records and will soon be releasing their second album entitled "El Momento" in March 2010.

Gadiel, who is the brother of Yandel, was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico and began his reggaeton career with artist Lobo. The duo did not last very long, and their partnership soon terminated after the release of the duo's single "Se La Monte." After putting his name out there, Wisin y Yandel invited Gadiel and Lobo to become part of WY Records. Gadiel accepted and Lobo turned down the offer for unknown reasons. Wisin, Yandel, and Gadiel began making music under WY Records, and together, the trio released "Impossible y Movitame." After the release of these songs, Gadiel began working with other artists under WY Records. He was featured by artists such as Franco "El Gorilla, Yomo, Don Omar, and Jowell y Randy. Musical History of Wisin y Yandel
Wisin y Yandel made their debut on DJ Dicky's release of No Fear 3, in 1998. The album was released by Fresh Productions and later that year Wisin & Yandel signed to their label and released their debut album: Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio. All of the albums released after their debut were large sucesses in the Latin American markets. Both Wisin & Yandel also released solo albums. However, it was not until the release of Pa'l Mundo, in 2005, that they caught the attention of non-Spanish speaking audiences. The duo have produced several chart topping hits and have even come out with their own record label, WY Records. WY Records is the strongest label, ranked number one, for reggaeton artists, stealing the spot from Daddy Yankee's El Cartel Records, and also putting Don Omar's All Star Records in third place in ranking. Since the beginning of their career, Wisin & Yandel also done several collaborations with English speaking artists such as R Kelly, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Nelly Furtado, Fat Joe, Eve, G-Unit, Akon,T-Pain, and 50 Cent. The duo was also nominated for a MTV Music Video Award in 2009 in the category "Best Pop Video" for their video for the song Abusadora. These two talented individuals have gotten themselves to the top in the Latin American markets and are on their way to the top in the American markets as well. Wisin creates a sick flow while Yandel is waiting to serenade you with his words. Soon, everyone in America will be standing in line for their Wisin & Yandel concert ticket.
Wisin y Yandel
Wisin & Yandel, the dynamic reggaeton duo from Cayey, Puerto Rico, have been making music together since 1995 and have been unstoppable ever since. Juan Luis Morera, Wisin, was born December 19,1978. Llandel Veguilla Malave Salazar, Yandel, was born on January 14, 1977. Wisin is married to Yomaira Ortiz and together the two have one daughter, Yelena, and one son, Dylan. Yandel is married to Edneris Espada, and they have two sons, Adrian and Derek. Before Wisin & Yandel began their careers as reggaeton artists, Yandel was studying theatre and acting, while Wisin was working as a barber. The two fell in love with reggae-Panamanian Dancehall music, later named reggaeton, and jumped into the underground music scene in Puerto Rico. When reggaeton was in its beginnings, most of the albums made came from DJ's putting several of their artists that they were promoting and combining them all on one disc. Wisin y Yandel began doing this and followed the same route as many of the other artists in the industry, beginning their journey to sucess. Wisin y Yandel soon became an instant sucess and are now the hottest names in reggaeton. From all of their success and the realease of nine studio albums, Wisin y Yandel have become the number one artists on the Reggaeton scence, and they do not look as though they will be leaving the number one spot any time soon. Their biggest moment thus far was when the duo decided to start their own record label, call it WY Records, and take some of the smaller names on the reggaeton scene and make them some of the biggest names that reggaeton has ever seen. The record label has succeeded in its goal and is now the number one records label for reggaeton artists.
